Floris White beer, Pear beer, and Chinese food.
My time in Brussels, Belgium.
Two (free) shots of Sambucca, two (free) caipriocas, one rosetto = one good night with my roomie and new Italian friends.
I’ve accumulated a lot of things, memories, and sleep.
And a lot of debt.
Let’s see how these next two months go.
I am so fortunate to have been able to not only have the same best friend for 12+ years, but to also have been able to travel the world with her.
From SF to LA, NY to Paris - and now she gets to take on Florence with me this weekend. I couldn’t be more excited. <3
It’s funny how people associate the time of your life with cities you’ve been to, famous monuments you’ve taken pictures in front of.
When I look back on this experience, yeah the pictures will be beautiful things to look at and jog some memories - but those memories will be of people, inside jokes, laughter, scents, feelings.
Oh, the life you’ve yet to live.
Today in Rome:
Spent the day at the Vatican
Ate pancit for the first time in … Forever
Sang Karaoke for hours upon hours
Highlights:
All of the above, plus meeting a cashier who lived for a few years in the same part of California as us. She was really happy to learn that, and I guess we were a friendly reminder of her second home. That made my heart smile. I kid you not, it actually smiled.
And also reconnecting with my filipino roots and singing Bakit Pa, as per usual. Sempre.
I have just discovered that I can post to this blog from my phone … Late in the game, I know.
It feels so great to just sit down and reflect (well, moreso rest …) after a blissful day in Rome. No complications, no complaints, just good company.
Details on today’s festivities will follow when I get home! But snippets:
Colosseum
Roman Forum
Palantine Hill
Pantheon
Trevi Fountain
Spanish Steps
Filipinos and Free Pizza
Buona notte!
Tonight was “Bomb” night at Uncle Jimmy’s.
I would recommend the Irish Car Bomb made by la ragazza con i cappelli rossi ;-)
Amo i mie coinquiline. <3
